Pastor Robert L. Sample has emerged as one of the premier leaders in the Fort Worth/Dallas Community, and in the Church of God in Christ at large. He is best described as a “Word Preacher” but can also be called a Faith Teacher, Visionary, Builder, and most importantly, a Pastor. He embodies all the qualities of the Pastor that the Lord promised in Jeremiah 3:15…“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

 

Pastor Sample is the last child of 13 born to John and Lee Ella Sample of Hubbard, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Wesleyan University, majoring in Sociology/Bible. Pastor Sample was called to the ministry in October 1965 while serving at the Stop Six Church of God in Christ. He began fulfilling his true calling as a Pastor in 1969. He was endowed by God with the gifts of organization and administration, thereby dedicating himself to the fulfilling of the Great Commission – (Matt. 28:19). Since that time, he has endeavored to articulate his vision for the Kingdom to many who would be drawn by the Word of Faith which he preaches. Under his leadership, Holy Tabernacle is now one of the fastest growing and most progressive ministries in the State of Texas and within the Church of God in Christ.

 

Pastor Sample’s love for people is observed through his devotion and dedication to humanitarian causes. He works locally with the organization, Allied Communities of Tarrant County. He has also served with United Way, and Because We Care (now, Challenge) - a Drug Counseling Program of the Fort Worth Independent School District.

He supports the cause of Christ in foreign nations through Mission Ministries. He was privileged to minister in Haiti, India, Mexico, Russia and Israel. He also supports missions in Kenya, India, the Dominican Republic , and South Africa.
