Bishop Robert L. Sample, Jurisdictional Prelate | Mother Janice I. Craig, Supervisor Department of Women

Administrative Assistant

Superintendent Gerald W. Jones, Sr. was born to the late Paul Jones and Mother Mary L. Jones in Taylor, Texas.  Pastor Jones served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, YPWW Teacher, District YPWW President, Choir President, Usher and Deacon at his home churches.  Pastor Jones’ home churches were Massey Memorial COGIC, of Bartlett, Texas (Elder Richard Massey) and Zion Temple COGIC of Harker Heights, Texas (Superintendent E. R. Billie).  He accepted his call to the ministry in 1984, and was licensed a minister in 1985.  He was ordained as an Elder in 1987.

Prior to establishing Refreshing Springs Church of God in Christ, Pastor Jones worked as a Medical Administrative Officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs.  This career allowed him to live in five different states.  Each move advanced his career, as well as expanded his vision of ministry in so many different worship experiences.  Pastor Jones was destined to relocate to Dallas, Texas in May 1994.  It was here that God gave him directions to establish Refreshing Springs Church of God in Christ, August 1, 1996.  Pastor was led to move the church under the leadership of Texas Northeast Third Jurisdiction (the late Bishop F. W. Smith).  He later served under Bishop T. W. Johnson and, served as 2nd Administrative Assistant under the leadership of Bishop Nelson Gatlin.

The church has grown tremendously since its inception and Pastor Jones determined that it was time to

devote all of his time to ministry.  He therefore retired from the Department of veterans Affairs after 33 years of federal service.  Pastor Jones was appointed to the position of District Superintendent in October 2011.  There he serves as Superintendent of the Refreshing Springs District.  In early 2016, Superintendent Jones was led to move the church into the newly formed Texas North Central Jurisdiction, under the leadership of Bishop Robert L. Sample.  There he serves as 1st Administrative Assistant to the Bishop.

Academically, Pastor Jones received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, from American Technological University in Killeen, Texas.  He has earned a Masters of Theology and Doctor of Divinity degrees from American International Bible Institute & Seminary of Waco, Texas.  Pastor Jones is married to Missionary Ruby L. Jones and they share lives with their children, Gerald II, Anthony, Lamond, Stephanie, Jeremiah (grandson) and Aliyah (granddaughter).

My personal Testimony: I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve as Founder and Pastor of this great church.  What an awesome God we serve, that He thinks so much of us to stand before His people and expound upon His truths, that souls may be saved.  The Gospel we preach, the lessons we teach and the souls we reach, is not about us.  It’s all about HIM.

We extend to each of you a special invitation to come and experience the Refreshing of the Lord at the SPRINGS.  Let God manifest Himself in your life.  You simply need to write the vision and make it plain, though it tarry, wait for it; because if will surely come.

Pastor Gerald Feltus is a native of New Orleans, LA.  He was led to Christ by his parents, Bishop James, Jr. and Supervisor Hazel Feltus, and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, when he was only 12 years old, during a revival service at the First Church of God in Christ United in New Orleans. Pastor Feltus holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the University of Dallas.  He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Tulane University.  He worked in the Defense, Intelligence, Aerospace, and Information Technology industries for over 39 years and retired in 2013 from Raytheon Company where he served as the Director of Financial Strategy & Analysis.

Pastor Feltus is a family man.  He has been married to his wonder wife, 1st Lady Janice Feltus, since July 1977. Pastor and 1st Lady Feltus are the proud parents of four very accomplished daughters, and three wonderful son-in-laws: Kyemba Strong (Reggie); Gere’ Layne, M.D. (Quinn); Jamie Brown, J.D. (Montel); and Whitney Feltus, M.D.  They are also blessed with six grandchildren: four boys (Jayden, Cameron, Dylan, & Landon); and two girls (Ryleigh & Zoe).  Pastor Feltus is a Servant of the Lord and has a great love for the people of God.

He has served in almost every area of ministry in the Church of God in Christ. He was called to the ministry in 1992. On February 15, 2011, he was selected as Pastor of the House of Prayer  Church of God in Christ in Ft. Worth, TX.

Pastor Feltus and 1st Lady Janice Feltus are thrilled and blessed to serve this great congregation of believers.  The theme God gave Pastor Feltus for House of Prayer is “FAITH FORWARD”.  Exodus 14:15 states: And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: Philippians 3:13-14 states: Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but [this] one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. In the words of Presiding Bishop, Charles E. Blake – “I see us in the future and we look much better then than we do now.”  Finally, in the words of Apostle Paul in I Corinthians 2:9 - But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. “FAITH FORWARD”
